And this is not the first time that Logan, often known as the “Cucumber Guy,” has had viral success on TikTok. He’s also had his attempts to make kimchi go viral, with people dubbing him “The Kimchi Guy.” He’s also had success with his cold noodle recipes, where people referred to him as “The Cold Noodle Guy.” The point is, Logan is versatile when it comes to trends. He makes them his own. And it is this versatility and authenticity that has landed Logan on the TikTok 2025 Discover List, a list of content creators from around the world who “are redefining culture and making a positive impact on and off the platform.”

We recently sat down with Logan to talk about being featured on the list, how he comes up with his iconic recipes, and his passion for Korean cuisine.

It’s honestly such an iconic name, especially because I have loved cucumbers my whole life.

You’ve just been named a top foodie on TikTok’s Discover List for 2025. Congratulations! How does that feel?

“It just feels very surreal to be a part of such an exciting list like the Discover TikTok list. I’m one of five Canadians! It feels so nice to be recognized by the platform that I fell in love with, making content and starting my content creation journey on. It’s honestly just an honor and it’s so exciting.”

You also have a passion for Korean cuisine and you add a lot of Korean flair to your recipes. Where did that passion and interest come from?

“I’ve been cooking since I was around 12 years old for my family. I watched [a lot of] cooking YouTubers growing up, and that’s where I learned to cook. So, in that process, I fell in love with a lot of different cultures. I would learn a lot of different dishes and Korean food [was] one of the main ones that I fell in love with at an early age. I started sharing that on TikTok and was just so happy to see so many people had the same interest as me.”

You’ve been to Korea a few times. What’s the best dish you’ve had while in Korea?

“Oh, this is a hard question. Honestly, I think just going there and getting pork belly Korean barbecue. The pork quality [in Korea] and the vibe when you have it there is unmatched. I just love it.”

Is there a destination that’s on your travel bucket list?

“I really want to go to Greece because Greek food includes [a lot of] cucumbers and vegetables and a lot of the stuff that I already like. I love Greek food to begin with! The foodie in me wants to go to Greece.”

You’re responsible for starting the cucumber salad trend. What was it like when you saw other people taking your inspiration and making it their own?

“It was definitely very shocking to see so many people that even inspired me to start creating content myself joining the cucumber salad trend, mentioning me and talking about it. It was just very surreal to see and it all happened so fast. Every day I would wake up and check my phone and be like, oh, I can’t believe this person did it.”

Who was the most exciting person that you saw taking on the trend?

“I was super blown away when I saw Alix Earle do it because [she] is such an it girl right now. It was just so cool to see that even she [was] recognizing the cucumber salad trend that I started on TikTok.”

When you see something trending online, how do you take it and make it your own?

“Honestly, my whole vision for my TikTok page is not to follow trends, but to stay true to the things that I personally love and post. The food that I’m eating, the life that I’m living and stuff like that. I think that authenticity shines through and creates opportunities for new trends to be built. We can see that in the cucumber salad trend that happened last summer. I was honestly just sharing the food that I love and trying to make it in an exciting and fun, simple way.”

How do you feel about the name “The Cucumber Guy” do you like it?

“It’s honestly such an iconic name, especially because I have loved cucumbers my whole life. I’ve been reflecting on the whole cucumber thing and I’m [thinking] of course it was cucumber because that’s what I love so much!

All my life, if you knew me, you would know I just love cucumbers. It’s my favourite vegetable. I would always bring them to school and always be snacking on them. I posted a video [that] my friend sent me from when I was in grade 11, and it’s a video of me at lunchtime, eating an entire cucumber. The comments are so funny. People are [saying], ‘he’s not new to this, he’s true to this’ and it’s true. I’ve been eating cucumbers for a very long time.”

I’m still keeping up with cucumbers. I think it’s the best, food and best, healthy, easy, accessible trend.

What’s your favourite cucumber salad recipe that you’ve made?

“I think my all-time favourite is probably the salmon, everything bagel, cream cheese and avocado cucumber salad. The story about how I first made it is actually kind of funny. Originally, I just made that salad combination on a bagel the day before. Then I realized I had all the ingredients still and I didn’t want a bagel. So [I thought], what if I put it in a cucumber salad and it ended up being so delicious.”

You’ve also had success creating martini recipes. What inspired that pivot in content?

“I was scrolling back on my account actually, and I posted a couple of unhinged martini [videos] in 2022. So I’ve definitely [had] an interest for martinis. But just these days, I think, like, my, palate has matured more.

I’m more intrigued by these savoury drinks so I’m seeing how savoury can I make a martini. I’ve made a Caesar salad martini, a kimchi martini, and a blue cheese martini, which is obviously my favourite.”

Have there been any unhinged martinis that you’ve made that have been totally undrinkable?

“No! The most unhinged one, which was actually better than I expected, was the Caesar salad [martini]. I was [thinking] maybe the Caesar salad dressing in the martini [would] be a bit viscous and chunky, but it actually ended up being so good. I love Caesar salad dressing. I used homemade Caesar salad dressing as well, which I think made it so perfect.”

What do you want the next trendy food or recipe to be?

“I’m still keeping up with cucumbers. I think it’s the best, food and best, healthy, easy, accessible trend. In the future, I think we’ll see more health and wellness type of trends. Like therapeutic, relaxing stuff like that.

Cucumber salad can be seen like that. Making the recipe is therapeutic. It’s very easy. There’s no stress, it’s very healthy and there are so many variations.”
