What is the new Starbucks holiday 2024 drink?
For the first time, Starbucks is adding a holiday refresher to its menu. The new Cran-Merry Orange Refresher combines sweet orange, tart cranberry and spices shaken with ice and cranberry bits. Like other Starbucks refreshers, it can be made with water, lemonade or coconut beverage.
What does the Cran-Merry Orange Refresher taste like?
The Cran-Merry Orange Refresher is very reminiscent of a punch you would get at a holiday party. It is sweet but the tartness of the cranberries helps make it not too sweet. Our favourite version was the Cran-Merry Refresher made with water. It helped to make the flavours stand out without feeling overpowered. Sometimes, the refreshers made with water can taste a bit diluted, but that wasn’t the case with this one.
We also really enjoyed it with the coconut beverage. It was certainly creamier and heavier than when made with water, but we enjoyed how it made the orange flavour pop more.
When made with lemonade, we found the drink to be too sweet, but if you have a super sweet tooth, you will love this version.
The inclusion of cranberries was also a delightful addition. It adds another festive flair to the Cran-Merry Refresher that we loved. We also think this drink would taste incredible as a sparkling beverage. So, our secret tip? Pick up a bottle of sparkling water while ordering this refresher and add it in for a bubbly kick.

What do the Starbucks 2024 holiday cups look like?
Every year we cannot wait to see what the Starbucks holiday cups will look like. And this year’s cups did not disappoint. There are four new designs for the holiday cups this year. From left to right, there is Joyful Connection, Lyrical Landscape, Siren Chorus, and Warm Wishes. They are all inspired by different stages of the coffee-making process and the joy of coming together over a cup of coffee during the holidays.
Joyful Connection is inspired by the coffee roasting process at a Starbucks Reserve roastery. The circular shapes emulate the round metal cooling tray that the beans go to after being roasted. It is meant to honour the art of coffee roasting and the joy of being together. Lyrical Landscape is reminiscent of holiday ribbons we often see this time of year. But it is also inspired by the green rolling hills where coffee is grown. Siren Chorus is inspired by the patterns that are made when raking coffee beans in the sun. Finally, Warm Wishes is inspired by the final stage of the coffee-making process — enjoying the coffee! It is meant to look like two coffee cups coming together to say cheers to coffee and the holiday season.
And hot coffee lovers don’t get all the fun this holiday season. A festive cold cup is also returning, decorated with holiday baubles.
What else is new at Starbucks for the 2024 holidays?
Last year, Starbucks launched Holiday Cold Foams. The flavours included peppermint chocolate, sugar cookie, chestnut praline and caramel brulé. This year, Starbucks is introducing two new Holiday Cold Foams: Salted Pecan Cold Foam and Gingerbread Cold Foam. The Salted Pecan Cold Foam was absolutely delicious. It is made with real salt, so it gives your coffee a bit of a salty kick. Plus, it has a great nutty flavour. The Gingerbread Cold Foam has a super spice-forward flavour and adds a festive, creamy addition to any drink.
Starbucks recently announced that non-dairy alternatives will no longer have an extra charge when added to their drinks. However, it is worth noting that the non-dairy cold foams will still have that additional charge.
Also new this year is the option to have these cold foams made to be non-dairy. The non-dairy cold foams are a little less creamy than their dairy counterparts, however, they still have the full festive flavour that you know and love. Three new pastries are being added to the Starbucks holiday lineup. They include the Turkey Sage Danish, Snowman Cake Pop and Penguin Cookie.
