In 2024, Tim Hortons launched new savoury menu items from pinwheels to flatbreads, and while the baked goods might seem like a natural step for the Canadian fast food chain, the flatbreads were not. Having flatbreads on the menu shocked many Tim Hortons fans, but that didn’t stop the brand from making them and delivering flavours we all know and love.

In fact, according to a press release, the Pepperoni flatbread was one of their best sellers in 2024, along with the Apple Fritter donut, Walnut Crunch and Chocolate-glazed Timbits.

When Tim Hortons first introduced its flatbreads, we loved them. They were fresh, cheesy and perfect for sharing. Canadians nationwide tried the flatbreads and had their own opinions. While some were positive, others questioned why Tim Hortons was tapping into this more savoury market outside their lane.

So, we put on our investigator’s hat and glasses and went behind the scenes to learn everything you need to know about Tim Hortons’ flatbreads, and here’s what we discovered.

What Kind of Flatbreads Does Tim Hortons Have?

Tim Hortons started with four flatbreads when they first launched in April 2024 Bacon Everything, Chicken Parmesan, Pepperoni and Simply Cheese. Then, in October, Tim Hortons released a Spicy Rosé flatbread.

Can we expect to see more on the menu? Well, there’s a high possibility! When we went behind the scenes, Tim Hortons told us that one of the reasons they introduced flatbreads is that the creative options are simply limitless. And because Canadians reacted well, we can only assume new options will be available soon. Let’s hope for a Butter Chicken flatbread!

Why Does Tim Hortons Have Flatbreads?

The simple answer is, why not? However, the longer answer involves two years of research and testing before finally letting Canadians nationwide have their bite of it. Flatbreads wasn’t “something random” that the brand wanted to introduce. Tim Hortons had a series of tests to see how Canadians would respond to the flatbreads, and the results were successful. so the brand officially introduced them to their menus nationwide in 2024.

In fact, its recipe development, execution and even the number of slices per flatbread were all purposefully thought out during the test series, and we’re here for it. The team tweaked and adjusted the recipe to make them the versions we now know today.

Each flatbread has six slices, making it easy to share while satisfying for one person to enjoy them all. The flatbread options cater to different taste buds and moods. From a classic cheese or pepperoni to one that resembles a bagel or even pasta — there’s a flatbread for nearly everyone.

Tim Hortons is trying to shift the mindset of consumers and offering fans meals they can eat no matter the time of day. In the past, a Timmies run might’ve been something people did before work or school. But now, you can grab lunch or dinner too — whether that’s after soccer practice or work.

Are The Flatbreads at Tim Hortons Good?

YES! The flatbread pizzas are good, and we’re not just saying that. We’ve tried all the flatbreads and can tell you which ones we like the most. Our new favourite flatbread is the Spicy Rosé because it’s sweet and a little spicy, which is the perfect combination. The cheese is gooey and the flatbread warm, making each bite delightful.

What Do Tim Hortons Flatbreads Taste Like?

The bread itself is delicious because it is a roasted garlic flatbread, which tastes similar to a garlic naan. Some of the flatbreads are topped with vine-ripened tomato sauce, similar to a traditional pizza, while one has a herb and garlic cream cheese base and another a creamy rosé sauce.

Each one tastes different than the other, and we ranked all the flatbreads from worst to best here.

Are The Flatbreads Fresh and Made to Order?

Yes, every flatbread at Tim Hortons is made to order and never frozen. Each flatbread has the same amount of cheese, sauce, and toppings and is placed in the oven for precisely 65 seconds. They are then cut into six slices and put in a rectangular box, which is easy to grab in the Tim Hortons drive-thru lane or in-store.

How Much Do The Tim Hortons Flatbreads Cost?
