Weeknight meals just got a lot easier with this simple and cozy Air Fryer Chicken Parmesan! Served with marinara sauce and spaghetti, it’s the perfect family dinner. While you can always make chicken parmesan the original way, which involves frying it in oil, I love using an air fryer to get perfectly juicy and crispy chicken. Plus, there’s no oil splashing around, which is always a win!
It’s a seriously delish meal that works perfectly every time. Feel free to swap out the marinara sauce for a store-bought version for an even quicker meal.

For the sauce:
Heat olive oil in a medium-sized pot. Add onions and cook till translucent. Add in garlic and cook 1-2 minutes. Pour in tomatoes and oregano. Crush the tomatoes with a wooden spoon and let simmer for 20 minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.

Cook spaghetti as per package directions and set aside.
Cover the chicken with parchment paper and pound it with the smooth side of a meat mallet until it is even and about ½ inches thick. Pat dry.

Prepare your dredging stations: flour, eggs and panko. Season each with salt and pepper as needed. Add oregano to panko and whisk together. Bread each chicken piece in flour, egg and panko (in this order). Set aside and repeat till you have four pieces.

Preheat the air fryer for 4 minutes at 400°F. On each side, spray chicken with oil and air fry* for 5 minutes. Remove and top with marinara sauce, grated parmesan and mozzarella slice. Return to air fryer for an additional 3-4 minutes (total of 13-14 minutes)

Remove and serve with spaghetti and the remainder of the sauce. Garnish with parsley
*Note:
Depending on the air fryer size, you may need to cook these in batches. If so, keep the cooked chicken warm in a 225-degree oven till ready to serve. This will keep it warm and crispy but not overcooked.
