Last minute party? Make these impressive puff pastry apple roses for the perfect sweet treat to add to your dessert table! With little prep time and just a few ingredients, these apple roses come together quickly and make for a fun activity for the kids as well. I’ve used Red Delicious apples, but any red apple (such as Snowflake apples) will work here.

Preheat oven to 350°F.
Core and thinly slice the apples to about ⅛-inch thickness, using a knife or mandolin.
Add the apples to a large bowl, pour over the lemon juice and cover with water. Microwave for 3 minutes to soften the apples so they’re easy to roll without breaking.
Spread about 1 teaspoon apricot jam on 1 strip of puff pastry.
Arrange the apple slices over the top half of the pastry, overlapping slightly, and with the skin side sticking out of the pastry by about ½ an inch.
Sprinkle about ¾ teaspoons of sugar and a ½ teaspoon of cinnamon over the apples and jam.
Fold the bottom half of the pastry up, to meet the top edge of the pastry. The rounded apple tops should be peeking out and not covered by the pastry.
Roll the pastry carefully to create the rose effect, and lightly press to seal the edges.
Repeat with the remaining pastry, until there are 12 roses.
Lightly grease a muffin pan and place one pastry rose in each cavity.
Bake until golden around the edges. Cool completely before dusting with icing sugar.
