Step 1
Add sugar and water to a saucepan over medium heat.
Step 2
Bring ingredients to a boil. Lower heat and let simmer 1 to 2 minutes. Add butter and stir until it dissolves.
Step 3
Pour caramel sauce into a bowl and let cool to room temperature.
Step 4
Pour cooled caramel into a jar and store with an airtight lid.
Step 5
Add some festive flair to the jar with an evergreen sprig and kitchen twine.
