Billy and Dom Eat The World
Ever since they first met on the set of The Lord of the Rings film series back in 1999, in which they portrayed the hobbits Merry and Pippin, actors Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan have developed a close friendship in the years. The on-screen “bromance” between their characters has transcended Middle Earth to the real world. The two actors still manage to get up to plenty of mischief and shenanigans and remain part of each other’s lives. In this six-episode travel series will follow Billy and Dom to six different locations around the world, each with their own unique culinary culture. In every episode, the two actors will explore the flavours on offer – seeking out local dishes, some famous, and some new. They’ll explore the way these foods are cultivated, cooked and served in each country for a deeper understanding of how and why each place they visit developed its unique cuisine. But you’ve got to earn your meal, so Billy and Dom will be put to work! Whether its cattle herding in the countryside or running the busiest market stalls in a hectic and vibrant city. They’ll be thrust into the centre of everything, getting involved, trying and (probably) failing to keep up with the locals. In true hobbit style, Billy and Dom will wander on foot, searching the hidden side of cities, hunting down their next adventure, taking recommendations, changing plans as they embark on their quest to Eat the World.
